Join Our Street Team.

its in our top 8. the STREET TEAM is for anyone who wants to help spread the word about SOAPBOX SOLDIER. It is run by us, so you'll have to contact the STREET TEAM myspace to see what is involved. I imagine its handing out flyers, making copies of our cd (when it comes out) to give out, requesting our music at local radio stations, bringing people to our shows,...etc. Thanks as always. Take care.

our music...and where i want it to go.

so here's what's been going through my mind. Ever since i started playing guitar again and writing 8 months ago (when joel and i birthed this band) i have been trying to figure out where i want to go musically with SOAPBOX SOLDIER. I've figured out a few things very early on, and i think we've achieved them. I've wanted to create energetic, heart-felt, and sincere music. This is the main focus and direction i am always going for. But more in depth, lately as the band develops, i've been trying to figure out exactly what sound i want to attain. On our first album which we are about to record, the music is unified and similar, but it is clear song to song an evolution that takes place. And there are three songs that will be on the album that really define what SOAPBOX SOLDIER is all about. The songs are "Pick Me, I'll be Your Number One," "The Ins and Outs," and "Porkchop Sandwich". They have a lot of energy, heart, sincerity, and emotion (exactly what i've always focused on, but ten-fold). These songs are what SOAPBOX SOLDIER has been evolving towards, and I am really excited for everyone to hear the album and the evolution that i think is apparent.

Apostle Theology

my dear, ...where do i begin, It has become evident to me that in my 23 years of existence i have neither created nor desroyed anything adding up to anything..ive pondered over many issues, ive paced myself drunk upon conceps of greatness, and often thought of the feeling that comes with power and grace. I want to start something real..something powerful..something timeless. I feel as if expression has become moot and simply saying what you feel and bobbing ones head in syncapation is no longer accceptable..I want the fight, the struggle, and the pain that is expression. Everthing i do may add up to nothing to you ..but to me it is all that i have to give and it will always be that way...I promise myself never to forget why i place my words on paper and why i stand and confess them to complete strangers...Its to move them , to spark something inside them , but most of all its for me...just for me.

Update

Although we are not currently playing any shows, we are working on writing our first album "my dear, where do we begin". As of two days ago we just finished writing two more songs. One of which is fairly heavy and rockin', while the other is punky and rockin'. We have one more song to finish up and we'll start recording March 27th. So...the album should be in its final form by June/July. Then we will start playing again. Thanks for your support.
